Death Clock

Death Clock trained an AI on 1,200 longevity studies to predict how long a user will live, including the specific date. The model also generates a personalised plan to extend that lifespan, and recalculates every time new health data comes in. Franson says his own date sits at February 16, 2065, age 78, and that the average user has 10 to 12 years they could add.

The name is deliberate. Franson frames it explicitly in Howard Stern terms: love it or hate it, just don't be apathetic. The polarising branding is the distribution strategy.

We trained an AI on 1,200 longevity studies to predict how long you're going to live, and the model was predicting the exact day you would die. Blood testing is commoditized. The set of tests you really need to understand heart health, metabolic health, inflammation — those are pretty inexpensive tests. We give away a basic test; it's in the tens of dollars.

Free blood testing

The new launch offers free nationwide blood testing covering roughly 50 biomarkers, covering heart health, metabolic health, and inflammation markers. The business logic is straightforward: blood testing is commoditised, LabCorp and Quest have kept costs low for years, and the actual panel Death Clock offers runs in the tens of dollars. The bet is that users who see the platform's longevity planning output will convert to premium tiers for more advanced testing, including cardiac screening and Alzheimer's genetic markers.

Franson pushes back on the biomarker arms race that competitors use to justify higher prices. Running 150 biomarkers instead of 50 isn't necessarily better, he argues, because standard blood tests carry roughly a 95% accuracy rate. The more markers you test asymptomatically, the more false positives you generate, and each false positive pulls a patient into a diagnostic process that carries its own risk. The smarter approach is surgical testing of the right things at the right time.

Every lab order carries a physician's name and goes through an approval process, though users don't interact directly with a doctor for standard tests. Franson is clear the platform isn't a medical provider and that users should discuss results with their own physicians.

Biological age scepticism

Franson is openly critical of how biological age is presented across the longevity space. Some platforms, he says, are telling users they're younger than any scientifically valid calculation would support, because a flattering number gets shared on social media. The most credible methodology comes from a Yale researcher and uses nine biomarkers. Franson's practical advice: pay close attention to LDL, hemoglobin A1c, and hsCRP (a C-reactive protein marker for inflammation), and don't put too much weight on a single biological age score.
