Zach London is an AI filmmaker operating under the handle Gossip Goblin, building what he describes as a dark, sardonic, transhumanist sci-fi universe — in public, on social media, for the past four years.

The feature film premieres December 4. It has been in production for eight to nine months, with London and a co-writer handling the script, a dozen voice actors, musicians scoring the film, full sound design, and a post-production crew. The visual production pipeline is AI-generated, but London is firm that this is not a prompt-to-screen operation. The human layer is extensive by design.

“I've been making AI videos since that was really a possibility, like four years ago. About a year and a half ago is when the tools really hit this inflection point where it became clear that you can actually make stuff that people want to watch beyond just the shock value. For the last eight, nine months we've been working on this feature film, premiering December 4.”

Production model

London's argument is that AI compresses production time and budget without eliminating craft. A sci-fi epic of the film's scope would have been prohibitively expensive and slow under conventional production. With generative tools, a small team can move fast enough to stay culturally relevant — something he sees as structurally similar to South Park's edge in satirizing current events before anyone else can.

Alongside the feature, Gossip Goblin publishes roughly ten minutes of short-form content per week, keeping the brand visible between major releases. Recent clips touching on Elon Musk's Colossus wet lab in San Francisco caught enough attention to reach Musk himself.

The creative bet

London started experimenting with AI video four years ago, when output was low quality and the dominant use case was viral shock content. He says the tools hit a genuine inflection point about a year and a half ago — the point at which narrative storytelling became viable beyond novelty. That conviction was enough to quit his day job, build a small studio, and hire a team.

He describes San Francisco's tech scene as essentially writing his plots for him. The gap between his sci-fi scripts and real-world events, he says, closes within weeks.
