Turo CEO launches Verified FSD integration with Tesla, reveals $1.2B revenue and path to autonomous car delivery

Oct 26, 2026 with Andre Haddad

Key Points

  • Turo launches Verified FSD, a Tesla API integration surfacing and verifying Full Self-Driving-enabled Model 3 and Model Y vehicles, rolling out Wednesday with free one-month FSD trials for eligible hosts.
  • Turo hit $1.2B revenue on $3.3B gross marketplace value in 2026, with profitability jumping through improved risk screening and higher-margin trip concentration.
  • Haddad is architecting toward autonomous delivery: as FSD matures, Turo's 200-plus airport permits and flight-tracking system could enable vehicles to autonomously reach guests, collapsing logistics costs.

Turo's FSD integration and the autonomous delivery play

Andre Haddad has run Turo for 15 years. The business will hit $1.2B in revenue this year on $3.3B in gross marketplace value, and Haddad says profitability has "dramatically increased" in 2026, with further growth expected in 2027. He attributes most of that improvement to better risk management — screening out high-risk trips and concentrating volume on the most profitable ones, work that isn't visible to users but has been the primary operational focus for the past few years.

“This year, we'll do around 1,200,000,000 in revenue out of 3,300,000,000 in TBP. We're bringing Tesla FSD integration into Turo. So now you can actually experience AVs by renting a car on Turo, specifically the Model three and Model y.”

Verified FSD

The news is a direct API integration with Tesla, launching Wednesday, that surfaces and verifies FSD-enabled Model 3 and Model Y vehicles inside Turo's app. Those two models are already the third and fourth most-rented cars on the platform. The integration checks vehicle eligibility and confirms the FSD subscription is active at trip start, so guests can book with confidence rather than manually hunting for hardware specs. Hosts with eligible Teslas but no active FSD subscription get a free one-month trial, which Haddad frames as a way to convert hosts into long-term Tesla FSD subscribers while driving more bookings.

Turo also has an existing EV charging integration that automatically bills guests for charging that occurs during a trip, pulling directly from the host's Tesla account. Verified FSD builds on that infrastructure.

The autonomous delivery thesis

The strategic ambition runs further than badge-verification. Haddad describes a scenario where FSD range and reliability improve to the point that a host's car autonomously drives itself to the guest at an airport, hotel, or home. Turo already has operating permits at more than 200 U.S. airports and has added flight-tracking integration to estimate arrival times, so the coordination layer is partly in place. The missing piece is FSD maturity. Haddad is careful not to put a timeline on it, but the product architecture is clearly being built toward autonomous delivery as the endpoint.

Growth constraints

Beyond risk management, Haddad identifies brand awareness as the second constraint. Turo has strong penetration with car enthusiasts and tech-forward travelers but hasn't fully broken into mass-market travel. The company is running an active brand campaign — "Rent a car, not a rental car" — to close that gap.

The near-term bet is that Verified FSD drives incremental bookings from guests who want the autonomous driving experience but couldn't previously find or trust FSD-enabled listings. The longer bet is that as FSD matures, peer-to-peer car sharing and autonomous delivery converge into something meaningfully different from either Turo or Waymo today.
